Independent artist Rory breaks into the Official UK top ten.

It has to be a huge congratulations to UK music artist Rory (also known as Roxanne Emery) for reaching number ten in the Official UK Charts yesterday with her debut album Restoration.

I know what you are saying “so what people hold the ten spot every week”. That’s not the point, the point is that it’s been achieved with no major music label behind her and the marketing that comes with that backing. It has been achieved by building a following via social media including YouTube, live performances, hard work and her fans turning up to support the music they love.

Restoration is the debut album under the Rory banner although there has been other music that Roxanne Emery has been involved in this is the first under Rory and is unapologetically personal. Proving age is just a number it comes with all the energy and passion anyone would be proud of but with the added benefit of life experience in all its glory and pain.

Achieving success in the music industry seems to be becoming ever harder even with the backing of a major label, so an independent artist getting into the top ten of the Official UK Album Charts and number one in the UK iTunes download charts proves it can still be done even in these music label dominated times.
